Decks

Before picture.  The deck framing was about 30 years old, the deck boards were replaced at 15 years.  Considerable rot and weathering and in need of complete replacement.

Generally rotten and soft support joists, not properly hung or braced, not properly anchored to the house framing.

New pressure treated framing with securely attached ledger boards and adjustable bases.

The pressure treated framing and decking was left to weather naturally as a no maintenance (required) structure.

Note the posts sitting directly on the base blocks, this method leads to wood rot at the base of the posts.

The posts were changed out to be supported on adjustable collars and additional diagonal bracing was added.
